On October 15, 2021, Faces was commercially released on streaming platforms and vinyl. The mixtape is the follow-up to Miller's second studio album Watching Movies with the Sound Off (2013), and is considered by many to be his magnum opus for its dark and personal exploration of Miller's struggle with drug addiction.

Although it wasn't the first time hearing such themes from Mac, this was different, it was dark. After blue slide park and KIDS, by the time Macadelic rolled around, many didn't expect such versatility out of him. In 2014, faces was more of an era, a place in time, but in a way, quite a dark hurdle.Īt the time of recording he was 22 years old and had already lived many lives.
